It's really beginning to sound like putting together a quick PAM

Ha ha. I just had (again) this same discussion with my boss.
Yes, yes it is, and yes, we did, and no, it doesn't work.
Urr?
I have a hail-Mary call in to 800-USA-4SUN on the off chance that
somebody at Sun^WOracle will be willing and able to help us debug our
PAM module, but I'm not holding my breath.
Hmm. I've never written a PAM module (I am OH SO NOT a fan of
PAM) so I can't comment on any potential pitfalls or anything, but
PAM is pervasive enough that I'd think there'd be some resources out
there for that, assuming you've got (or are) a good C person. If
not, I can be hired on short notice. ;)
In fact, dropping in hardware is a possibility but presents other
issues
beyond the scope of this thread; I'm trying to work this from as many
angles as possible on the assumption that most of them will be dead
ends. Life lessons learned from CPU architecture strategies.
Clearly,
I am ill.
Clearly. ;) I don't envy your situation, and I wish you luck.
