William,

I just meant that the microphone is in working order. Thanks for that info,
I'll try a few different things to see if I can separate mono vs. stereo. If I
can scrounge up a SPARC machine on 4.2 I'll test that as well.

Thanks again,
Damien

Subject: Re: [SunRay-Users] Audio input feature

Are you saying that the issue still existed when you used uttsc to access a
physical desktop or that you connected the headset directly to a physical
desktop and determined that the headset was broken?

If the former, I think you are running into an old problem that I found at
http://osdir.com/ml/os.solaris.sunray/2008-04/msg00057.html. I experienced the
same issue with sdtaudiorecord and Audacity on Solaris and reported it back in
July of 2009 and CR 6898606 was opened. As of January 2010, I was told there
was an ETA of a couple months but I haven't heard anything since then.
Essentially the bug only hits SRSS/x86 when the application attempts to open
recording in stereo (whether or not the underlying device is mono or stereo is
irrelevant). Opening only 1 channel does not trigger this problem, but I don't
know if uttsc always opens 2 channels or only opens exactly what the Windows
application requests.
