Hi Meik,
Good call, but I can't see any reasons....

sudo /opt/SUNWut/lib/utauthd

returns blank, no errors - I am looking at the script right now, but
java appears to be OK...

 sudo /opt/SUNWut/lib/utauthd -h
/opt/SUNWut/lib/utauthd[106]: -h: unknown option
utauthd: unknown option
Usage: utauthd [-b|-e] [-s signal] [-n fds]
-e # End execution of authentication manager
-s # Signal to send to utauthd
-b # Begin execution of authentication manager (default)
-n # Number of file descriptors to make available

Script references java @ /etc/opt/SUNWut/jre which I can see points to
the 32 bit java (/usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun/jre), a quick
confirmation:

/etc/opt/SUNWut/jre/bin/java -version
java version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 16.3-b01, mixed mode)

sudo /opt/SUNWut/lib/utauthd start

<nothing>
