Craig, Does the fact that vRDP attaches at the Hypervisor level make it less useful or even non-functional in a WTS scenario? Or does it perhaps mean that there will be resource constraints since it's not multi-user?
It was my understanding that of the 2 performance tweaks [going to x86 and VirtualBox], vRDP was supposed to provide the lion's share of the performance boost. Has that been your experience? For scenario 1, did SRS 5.1.2 markedly improve SRWC, which is where I would imagine the action to be happening? We are currently pursuing scenario #2 but I suppose, along the way, we can also do #1. Thanks as always for your detailed information. Currently the CMT server in your mix is affecting how well our new RDP7 feature works since we have to convert the Microsoft enhanced bitmap stream to M-JPEG at the Sun Ray Sever layer. 2) Build a VirutalBox VM of Win7 (or 2008R2 if that's easier) and see how your app works over vRDP. Little if any processing takes place on the Sun Ray server.
