Wouldn't matter if you had money to pay for support, Solaris 11 is not supported with Sun Ray Software Yet. See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22662_01/E22659/html/Reqs-OS.html for a list for OS Requirements.

Downgrading firmware is simply a matter of putting a barrier level equal to or lower than the barrier in the parms file of the model you wish to downgrade.

Whatever the is listed for the barrier in the parms files in /tftpboot/<modelnumber>.parms, put a new line that reads BarrierLevel=XXX where XXX is equal or lower than the Barrier. This will allow it to downgrade the higher level barrier in the DTU.

Two days ago I upgraded to Solaris 11 and installed SRS 5.2, previously

It is almost impossible to work like this. I assume this is bug
12577446. If I uninstall 5.2 and reinstall 4.3, will that fix the bug,
or is it in the firmware? I don't think the DTU will automatically fall
back to an earlier firmware.

I work from home on this machine and I am concerned I will have trouble
doing my job. Is there a workaround? I guess I could call up Oracle and
inquire about the price of a home-user support agreement, but I get the
chills just thinking about it.

Many thanks,
Marty
