Yes, it does have VPN client as well as Wifi configuration. The same way as 
'official' SR firmware, there are two firmware versions - with and without GUI. 
The usual key combination of 'Stop-V' should give you version, 'Stop-M' or 
'Stop-S' access to menu/settings, and 'Stop-W' direct access to Wifi setup.
