Not alone it doesn't, but when I mentioned "you can specify that server side" I meant the Microsoft Server Side.

MS has millions (totally guessing, but let's just agree it's a big number) of users that do not have an RDP client that can make use of RDP 7.1 semantics. Besides the licensees of the RDP Spec, it would also include any MS RDC with a version lower than 6.1. (e.g. the one MS releases for Mac OSX can't use this feature either).

So for all the clients that do not allow you supply the following rdp configuration settings:

full address:s:
workspace id:s:
use redirection server name:i:
loadbalanceinfo:s:
alternate full address:s:

You perform this work-around:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff646940%28v=ws.10%29.aspx

Now, in order for this to work, you have to provide credentials before you see the Windows logon screen. So that's where the script that I mentioned, that you found, comes to play. But the same holds true for 2003 WNLB/SD and 2008 SB. We'll be making this part easier soon.

Thank you for responding. I searched the list archive and found the
Zenity script you provided.

However, I don't think it addresses the issue with the Windows 2012
broker: one must specify the load balance argument (introduced in RDP
7.0) in order to take advantage of machine pools that use personal
virtual disks.

We want this feature so that we can have a pool of just a few generic
machine instances to which a user's personal virtual disk is connected
at login rather than having to have a dedicated machine instance for
each user.

uttsc does not appear to support the load balance argument. Is Oracle
planning to provide an updated version of uttsc (or rdesktop - we'll run
SRSS under Linux if we need to) that does support this parameter? If so,
when?

Thanks,
Joe

You can specify that server side. However, you'll need to provide the
user credentials prior to seeing the windows login screen. I've sent
several examples of that to this list, but if you can't track them down,
I'll resend. (Sorry, on my phone and can't search very well)

Can anybody at Oracle address this?

We have a Win 2012 Hyper-V environment all set up and ready to go. We
just need to know when the Sun Ray will be able to access through the
Microsoft broker. Given the massive HIPAA push underway at our
university, Sun Rays that could access this environment could become
the end user device of choice; this could displace millions of dollars
worth of Dell desktops.

Greetings:

We have Sun Ray 1's & 3's connecting to Windows Server 2008 terminal
server instances and really like them. However, we want to use Sun
Rays to connect to Windows 7 & 8 virtual instances on Windows 2012
servers through their brokers.

It appears that uttsc does not support specifying the load balance
parameter required to do this. Is this correct? If so, is there a
timeframe for when Sun Ray might support this capability?

This seems like a pretty important feature to many enterprise
computing customers.

Thanks,
Joe
