I have the same fun with our smartcard log in against Windows 7 and WTS 2008R2, but there I see no workarounds, as uttsc is not capable to get credentials from a Smartcard/PIN combination (no user/pass anymore). And from times to times the screen is locked and your are out of the game (Windows is telling you things like no valid certificates, no certificates, the reader is blinking forever) and you need to kill the session of the user. This is quite an issue here, have opened a ticket but made no progress so far => turns into a showstopper slowly.

If you're putting usernames and passwords into the Windows login screen, it's too late. You won't get the authentication token from AD that uttsc needs to allow reconnects and redirects without prompting for credentials again., thus the double logon upon being redirected from the session broker. There's been a few discussions on this, some use a Zenity dialog, some use Oracle VDI purely as front end to assist passing the username and password on to uttsc.
