That's only for vRDP. Windows RDP connectivity would be controlled by the Remote tab. Possible that there was a mismatch in pool settings for RDP and network? e.g. MS-RDP selected with NAT.

Anyhow, I hope you got it all sorted now. :)

Hi Christian,

I have just changed the RDP settings from VRDP to Windows RDP and it
logged me in fine. When I tried this before, it wouldn’t even connect
to the VM. May it be that the /with_autologon flag for the guest
additions install fixed this and allows me to use Windows RDP to connect
to the VM now?

Anyway, first impressions are that it is working now. Many thanks to
everyone who has helped. Hopefully I won’t need to bother you all again
soon J

Hello Simon

I have a configuration very similar to the one you describe. This is:

- Oracle VDI 3.4.1 (Solaris OS)

- Windows 7 Professional 32 bits

- Active Directory with GPO to show some terms and conditions you have
to agree before log in into the Desktop.

- The Pool is configured with the following settings:

- Host network

- Windows RDP

As of now, everything is working fine. Each user logs in through the sun
ray 3 client and is shown that page and an OK button, after that the
user is auto-logged in successfully.

Hi Simon,

There's a group policy setting under Security Options under Local Policy
called Interactive logon: Do not require Ctrl+Alt+Del, if you enable
that it should remove the requirement for pressing ctrl alt del before
vbox autologon completes.

Simon,

Do you have an 'acceptable use policy' enabled before login?

Stuart.

Hi Simon

Have you unchecked the option "Use Fully Qualified Domain Name" in
your Windows 7 pool settings?
I used to have problem with those connections, but un-checking that
option solved it for me.

Hi All,

I have a VDi 3.4 server set up with two pools. A Windows XP image
pool and a Windows 7 image pool. The Windows XP pool uses Windows RDP
to connect to the VM's and works fine. The Windows 7 pool uses VRDP,
(as for some reason Windows RDP doesn't connect to the Windows 7 VMs).
However, when users try to log in to the Windows 7 pool, they are
presented with the Windows 7 login screen. Checking the uttsc-bin
pargs output, the user option, (-u) is set to "vda" instead of the
username of the user logging in. As a comparison, when the same user
logs in to the Windows XP pool the uttsc-bin pargs output shown the
user's username for the --u option.

Any ideas what is causing this to happen? Any help much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Simon

Hi Stuart,

Nope, it's a straight off vanilla Windows 7, (SP1) image it its own
workgroup. The only changes made to it are to install the guest
additions. I should have pointed out before that I have to run a
sysprep on the imported template and can't use the fastprep for
Windows7. If I use fastprep then the cloned images don't join the
domain and stay in the workgroup.
