All the new stuff, a lot of the old stuff. I find it weird when people send big long
emails, raising very good points about the frankly terrible state of distribution of
Sunscreem stuff, and then complain they can't get hold of single X or album Y.
Sunscreem are committed to making sure that their "core" fans can get hold of what
they need - and see the net as a superb way of doing this. They will sell you anything
they have from stock, this includes all the uk & international releases on vinyl, cd
or whatever. Even the rare limited editions, they secure a stock to sell on to us via
the web. I can't think of any other band that does this....if you want a rare PSB
single for instance you are stuck with trawling the second hand record shops and
paying huge amounts of money. If there's something you need to compete your collection
- drop them a line. They may be able to help even if it isn't listed. This probably
sounds like a commercial (which is not the intention) - I know the !
!
!
service is far from perfect and delivery can take quite a while. But I know and trust
the guys who run this and they will bend over backwards to make sure people get what
they want where possible.
As for the wisdom of releasing promos - who knows? Contrary to what a lot of people
think I am not "in on" the thinking that goes on. My guess is that for some reason a
full commercial release is not possible (maybe to hang on to the mixes as "bait" for a
new label?) but they realised there were people who wanted the release. Hence the
small scale .... maybe I'm wrong I don't know.
Anyway it's time to get back to work - have fun guys...
Adam.
