Well I guess I better reply to this one...as I have been prompted somewhat!

This is for a lot of reasons, first off they are getting a lot more
bookings for live stuff from non-UK sources. Also, records are selling very
well in Europe in particular. There is also the fact that bacause in the
past most releases have been in the UK first (or only) there is a lot of
back catalogue which can be remixed and rereleased abroad, this is
important because of all the legal rubbish floating around still.

NOT anything on a gatecrasher cd. Fat Boy Slim = Trance?? I think not.
Gatecrasher albums have always disappointed me compared to the club nights
themselves - they seem to pack the first half of each disc with "big names"
regardless of the tunes. IMHO nothing beats the likes of Global Underground
or Additive. But that's not really important....

I have to say I disagree with this as well. You can't "make" good music in
one style simply by taking something else and remixing it. I wasn't a big
fan of the Exodus mix, and there's also a Trance mix of Secrets coming out
soon which I have heard. It's OK, but in my mind it's not Secrets. I love
trance and house music, probably more than anything else, but Sunscreem is
different, you can't just add a new bassline and some breakdowns and call
it trance.

And there's certainly no way that SS have "missed" the whole Trance thing.
With John C running the UK arm of one of the biggest labels in that genre
he knows a thing or two about it, and there are some more new remixes in
the pipeline. But I would prefer to hear new things with the same freshness
as the originals....not more euromixes.

I always thought Sunscreems best stuff was often their own, untouched by
others. Yes the commercial releases were great, but also their own remixes
like the Heaven mixes and the Damn Disco/LAY mix. With the notable
exception of TE and Gomez, I think I prefer their's to anyone else's.

Hmm of course not Rob....

A few things to be said here. First off - the DJs you mentioned are not the
be all and end all of dance music. There are plenty of records out there
which do well without those guys playing them, not _only_ trance music
sells well !!! Shanks & Bigfoot anyone?? Biggest selling dance record of
the year so far I would think, and I can bet you Oakey wouldn't touch it.
Second - the band (by which I mean P&L) are certainly not demoralised. Not
by any stretch of the imagination....

Well it would be nice of the legal stuff would go away. But that's not
going to happen by itself. For the meantime we have to make do with things
which fall outside the remit of the "trouble".

Anyway, enough for now. This will probably bounce due to size, but if
anyone does ever read it, fell free to comment. This is only my opinion of
course!

Adam.
