It's relatively cheap (especially if you get a ripped off cough for
nothing... <cough>) and I'll probably have a go with Sonic Foundry Acid.
Providing you're not hoping to do too much in the way of clever original
notation, and are just thinking of 'doing a Fatboy Slim' with cut-up
beats, samples, filters & general effects, it's straightforward and
pretty ideal.

Also on the very amateur side (but intuitive and easy for almost anyone
to use) you could try Rave eJay 2- again, nigh on useless for creating
original tracks but well suited to a remix.

Both of these programs would (in my not necessarily good opinion)
compliment your 2-decks-and-a-mixer style, if you feed segments,
scratches etc. into your soundcard, record and rearrange them that way.
I have a strong dislike of tape of any kind, so I'd always try to keep
it as digital as possible...
