I installed a 2 gig Quantum SCSI hard drive that I bought on eBay. Then, my s900 hung late in the boot. I rebooted and hung earlier in the process. The subsequent boot attempts just gave me a black screen. I pulled the drive and still couldn't boot. My first thought was that my battery must be dead. I had it checked a Radio Shack and they said it was fine. I started pulling devices to find the problem and found that I could boot if I disconnect one of my existing IDE drives. Does this sound strange? Could this be directory damage A bad IDE cable? A problem in the ProMax 33 card? Any other ideas?
