I don't necessarily agree with you on that point.  I think most of the
people on this list are using a UMAX clone because the machine, and all
of the peripherals, are all paid for.  Buying a new computer goes way
beyond the cost of the machine.

There are, in fact, quite a few list members using OSX.  One in
particular is responsible for OSX being available for use on (most of)
the UMAXs.

Yes, I told him that.  And, I still stand by that suggestion.

Yes, ten of them.  But, they continue to function and be productive with
our "old" c600 and 9600.  BTW I did buy a new printer, a zip drive, and
a Serial to USB PDA (Palm) adapter for use with the new iMac.  All of
the other "stuff" I need for my business works fine with the new
machine.  I am having very good luck with driver updates and beta software.

The Power PC is not inferior, just slower than the G3 and G4 and
whatever becomes the next latest and greatest.  I suspect that in two
years there will be things I can not hook up to my (eleven day old) new machine.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  Depends on ones needs and cash flow.
