I never thought of Apple as being saavy in technical support on a personal level.
The onslaught of the clone market put them on notice and changed the way they do
business, but I never considered contacting them for any type of support.
The Mac OS itself gets some of the credit for allowing us to muck it alone or with
help from a user group such as this.
