Thanks for the info Nancy.

The card description is Asante'Fast 10/100 PCI, PWA 09-00087 31 Rev C 
and the driver I downloaded [AsanteFast PCI 4.0] is supposed to be 
the correct one. It just seems I'm missing some vital info. or doing 
something wrong. I don't know how to proceed to determine if the card 
isn't any good or simply isn't compatible with a Umax c600. Would 
really appreciate some insight into networking.
