Now this really has me baffled.

For some reason, my Teac 516-S 16X, which has been working fine, is having
major problems mounting 'ONLY' MEMOREX cd's burned on my external Sony
CRX-120 Firewire drive. The Teac came out of a PowerCenterPro 210. Jeff, I
like your thoughts that my optics might be dirty but this now seems doubtful
given these verified circumstances.

Ironically, Factory cd's, IBM cd's also burned on the same Sony cdrw, and
cd's burned elsewhere mount just fine. Verified! Yet this Teac Cd/rom no
longer likes 'Memorex' cd's I burned on the Sony drive. But all these same
cd's have been working just fine on a regular bases on the same Teac up
until yesterday. They also mount just fine on the Sony cdrw. Why would the
Teac CD/Rom all of a sudden stop mounting and reading ONLY the 'Memorex'
cd's all at once? Now when trying to mount them, it basically hangs
everything for a few minutes. It seems to eventually mount, but hangs
everything again when opening a simple folder. It was 'ABSOLUTELY'
mounting & reading these same exact burns just fine until now.

If it were driver related, then I'd think all these other cd's wouldn't
behave normally as opposed to the Memorex's. Does anybody have any thoughts
on this, other then having to switch brands and re-burn everything?

Thanks,
Dave s900
