It seems we've all been conned by A. Intech. B. Adaptec and C. XLR8.

I had some success for a while with only using one Seagate ST318451LW 160
LVD 68Pinner , and had only the CD ROM Matsu CR-507B and a Zip 100 on the
50 Pinner of the Adaptec. That seemed to work alright for a few months.

I also had the XLR8 Dual port USB card in slot 4 with a MS Wheel Mouse.
That has packed up today.

I reckon the only way to go is to forget any future with the S900 apart from
donkey work using the original bus.

Intech claimed that Adaptec recommended there HDST 3.4-5. In trying to use
Intech for re-formating my HDs it totally refused to do anything. They
manage to "Take control of selected device" but that was only after FWB 4.5
did the trick of low level formatting. Now I try to use my AGFA Snapscan
600, it causes all types of boot problems and freezing even with a totally
fresh OS 9.1 installed and updated.

I can't see how XLR8 can claim compatibility with the G4 450 which in my
case was a waste of good money.

Now I've learnt my lesson. I will not plough another cent into my machine
and probably a purchase OSX native machine. Life is to short to waste
valuable time on a machine designed in 95-6.

So my advice is forget it.
