Hi Sybil;

Thank you for the wise suggestion. I haven't wanted to think about a
reinstall. I have been hoping for a less tedious solution.

The Apple Support site Article #25207(AppleGuideGlueLib) says to
reinstall the AppleGuide extention from the install disc. I used
TomeVeiwer to extract the AppleGuide extention and installed it. With
no joy.

One possibility is that my install CD was corrupted in that area from
it's receipt. It is an non comercial CD from MacSolutions marked with
a Black Sharpie.

Just to test it would be a hassle. So I was looking at a 7 1/2 hour
download from Apple to get the 9.1 upgrade. Max connection speed
26.4 Mb/sec, 2.4MB/sec download using Appleisp and 40 miles from the
backbone. My other isp will drop to 500 B/sec even at 2 in the AM
when connected at 24.0 Kb/sec.

I am 3 hours into the down load and have 6 of 15, 4.7M chunks done.

Thank you again for jerking me back to reality. As my Grampa(b.1863)
used to say: "Life's tough".

Ernie
