I had a quick look at Ryan Rempel's info on the XPostFacto web site, and he
mentions that he's had several reports of booting problems with the Initio
cards. There are beta drivers available from Initio, but I would think you
should get OS X up and running on the internal SCSI bus before attempting to
test the Initio card with the beta drivers.

Your configuration should work, except for the problems that the Initio card
may be causing. It's a hassle, but I'd connect your SCSI drive(s) to the
S900's own internal bus, make absolutely sure that drive termination is
correct, de-interleave your RAM, and give it a go. Read everything on Ryan's
web site carefully too, of course. You don't mention which video card your
using, but it's important to have one of a few supported cards during the
initial installation. The S900's original TwinTurbo video card in one of the
top two slots should be fine, it was for me. But remove any other
unsupported video cards until after the install is proven successful.

Should you successfully install OS X, and you should be able to, then you
can apply the Initio drivers and test that SCSI card. You can also
interleave your RAM again, as de-interleaving is just a precaution that is
sometimes necessary. Also make sure you download Ryan's "L2CaceConfig", and
follow the directions that come with it before you attempt to install OS X.
Although Powerlogix also has a L2 cache re-enabling utility you can
download, Ryan's works very well.

Finally, for the best chance at success, the target OS X hard drive should
be formatted with the latest Apple drivers (Apple Drive Setup) as a fresh
HFS+ volume.
