After S900 came up with 604e, did you then retry booting with your 
XLR8 G3 (after CUDA reset)? I had S900 trouble that included blank 
screen on boot. Putting my 604e back in got me going, but I was then 
able to boot with my PowerLogix G3. It was as though something needed 
resetting in a way that only the 604e could do, but - once reset - 
the G3 worked. You might also need to zap PRAM (command-option-P-R) 
as you reboot. It would be worth a try - if you haven't already - 
before springing for a new card.
