I had a similar problem with my NewerTech G4/400 card about a month after I
bought it. I even tried zapping the PRAM but the machine would only boot
properly when I replaced the Newertech card with the original 604e CPU. Then
one day I got stubborn and sat on the command-option-P-R keys for about a
minute and a half - nothing to lose - and the G4 card came back to life
(haven't had a problem since). Hope this gives you some hope - and a working
Powerlogix G3!
