XPostFacto is *definitely* the way to go.   Sonnet's software is basically 
the same thing, execpt they charge $30 for it.

I have pretty much the same machine as you - S900 with a Sonnet G4/450 card 
in it.   I actually only got the G4 card about 2 weeks ago, and ran OS X on 
the original 200 mhz 604e CPU!   It was slow, but useable enough to check 
out X.

You need to check to see if that video card is even supported by X, whether 
in an S900 or not.   The list of officially supported video cards is a 
pretty small one.   I have an ix3D Ultimate rez card with 8 megs of RAM in 
slot 1, and it works fine.   That's another thing, your video card needs to 
be in one of the top 2 slots to have a chance of working with OS X.  Also 
you need plenty of RAM - I have 560 megs, but 256 is a good minimum.   The 
more the better.

I run OS 10.1.4 basically all the time now, and rarely boot back into 9.1.   
The last time I needed 9.1 was to install the G4 card and software!
