Of course you checked your 'Explorer' folder in the 'Preferences' folder
where the favorites are kept? I guess there is a possibility you now have
two of them in there with the reinstall, and the new one became the default.
It is also possible that it moved your old favorites into a newly created
'Preferences (Disabled)' folder in your Sys Folder. Check both.

If you find two copies of the Explorer folder here, open each one up to show
the sizes of each file within. Obviously the one with the larger files will
be your original. (To be safe, I would copy the entire Favorites folder
onto a separate drive as well for backup) When you are sure of which is the
original, just copy the original items into the default folder now occupied
by the new favorites. It will overwrite as you need them.

If there aren't two 'Explorer' folders in the System Folder, I would try a
search for 'Favorites.html' and maybe 'Internet Scrapbook' if you used this
function. I guess there is a possibility it moved it into another 'old
favorites' folder or something similar on your hard drive. Whatever search
results come up, follow them back to where they reside and hopefully these
will be your originals. Hope this helps.
