I seem to remember someone else running into this or a similar
problem recently. I just ran Norton Disk Doctor (found and
reallocated some bad blocks) and while it found a few major problems
it was able to fix all of them.

However, now, after I boot up, I get a message that File Sharing
could not be enabled. Looking into it more closely, it seems that
there is only a problem with file sharing on one volume. The other
volumes are fine and File Sharing has started up.

When I do Get Info on the problem volume and select Sharing (OS 9.1)
I get the message, "This item could not be shared because file
sharing is preparing the disk. Please wait a moment and try again."
Except, of course, that waiting does no good.

So, anyone know the solution? It was fine before I ran NDD--in the
file sharing sense.
