Tom,

Yes, it is velcroed to the board.  So, go ahead with the "gently pry it 
off" method.  If you have not already found a replacement battery, you 
can usually find them at a local Radio Shack.  You can also order them 
from various online vendors, but the shipping gets expensive for a 
single battery.

This list is great for answers.  I have already gotten more than my 
share of help from these folks!
