Jeff,

Well technically yes. I had run the Ramometer test, shut down, and 
swapped the RAM.  Rebooting stopped at the Happy Mac.

I did try putting back the chips I just tested.  I even went back to go, 
with the one 64MB Microtech chip.  If I disconnect everything, do the 
finger gymnastics (don't know if it is making any difference now) and 
reboot, I can get to the blinking icon on the floppy image.  BUT, when I 
reconnect the internal SCSI cable I can not get past the Happy Mac.

I might be wrong, as this is all new territory to me, but I do believe I 
have a faulty SCSI cable and/or connector.  I will find out tomorrow 
evening. (Got home from shop-keeping way to late to tackle it 
tonight.)   I was able to find a SCSI ribbon cable at a local computer 
store for under $20.   It is a generic PC brand, which "looks" right.  
It has the 50 pin connectors that look like the ones I have.  And an 
"eyeball" inspection looks like it is long enough.
