I recommend an external Global Village V.90 modem, which will come with the
software.
Still probably the most Mac friendly modem and available new last time I
noticed.
If you insist on an internal modem, others will have to make the
suggestions.
I've had mine since the Flex days and OS 8.1 (late 1998.) with zero
problems.
It's been flashed to V.90 but other then that I don't think I've changed
anything through the OS updates to 9.1.
It is hooked up to the external modem port.
