Been there done that. I put IBM 40 GB Deskstar's in my C500 and 2 S900's. Put one in my Mac B&W G3 too. They are now $ 69 at http://www.newegg.com. I put in a Sonnet Tempo Ultra ATA66 PCI cards to handle the connects. Then more ram to 1 GB. My CD burner is portable to feed 4 computers rather than 1 internal so I kept the CD internal. Check to make sure the internal CD burner can be used to boot from a system CD. I'm not sure all can. Also I put in $ 12 USB cards and Firewire cards. Good luck.
