Nancy, I didn't know the answer so i checked the disks I have. Both 
the S900/J700 disk (OS 7.6.1) and my C500/600 (OS 8.0 ) 0 boot my 
J700 machine! Oddly enough the Apple 8x which boots anything with the 
C key only boots these disks with the four finger 
salute(shift+option+ Apple + delete keys) I guess this is because it 
uses the FWB on the disk to boot it. So the answer seems to be yes 
they will work! I do know that I ran into problems a while back and 
couldn't install with these disks but it was because I had used the 
latest Apple drive setup and used HFS plus to format the disks. I 
would have had to gone back to the older FWB driver to install from 
these disks. Will S
