I'd almost bet on it ;-)
The fix is to remove the battery and unplug the machine for 12 plus 
min.  Push cuda  button replace battery and plug in and away you go 
;-) You also have the deep Pram/NVRAM key thing at startup that may 
well do the same thing. I can't remember what it is and don't think 
it worked for the OSX black screen of death but not sure. Later Will S
