actually, at least on the g4, an adb keyboard can wake it up via the griffin adb adapter if it's plugged directly into one of the mac usb ports. it just won't work through a hub, which is apparently why apple replaced the power key on the pro keyboards with an eject key, they didn't want all the tech support from people when they couldn't make the power key work anymore after buying a hub. the apple usb ports are slightly non-complient with the standard and this is the problem, and related to the cd ejecting on power up problem.
