I don't think your question is OT at all. After all, the topic is 'fan
noise' :-)

Papst is a German company. I assume you can get these in the US. If not,
I'll be happy to send them to anyone who wants.

The Papst fan in question moves an air volume of 61 cubic meters per hour
(sorry, Germany went metric), this equals 36 CFM. This is about 85% of the
air volume of the one it replaced.

The Sunon fan in my J700 delivered 44 CFM with 33 dB noise. There also seems
to be another version of that Sunon fan (KD1209PTB1) which moves 50 CFM at
42 dB (ouch!).

Check out Papst at www.papst.de. They are very well known in Germany and
produce extremely high quality products.
