After a (new) battery install and CUDA reset, I'm back in 9.1 again with
everything humming along ... phew! Thanx for all the suggestions, guys!
Great advice, as usual. I definitely plan to try some of your suggestions in
due course. But, for now, I'm exhausted!

Frankly, I need a nap (or two) before gathering an older version of XPF and
trying to install 10.0.3 again. However, I have some new questions regarding
what happens if/when I succeed and wish to move beyond OS 10.0.3 ...

Q1: I have the 10.1 Upgrade Disk which, I understand, I have to install via
XPF. But, which version of XPF do I use to do that? Should I stick with beta
7, or do I try it with beta 15 or 16?

Q2: I also have the OSXUpdateCombo.10.1.5.dmg (BTW, what's the .dmg
extension mean?). Am I correct in assuming that one no longer needs XPF to
upgrade from 10.1 to 10.1.5 in one quantum leap? It works from within OSX
with no extra push from XPF required?

Q3: Ergo, am I also correct in assuming that, at this stage (running under
OS 10.1.5), XPF merely becomes the required method of rebooting into OS X
after working in OS 9.1? Or is that even necessary any more?

Q4: I understand that, once I've reached 10.1.5, I can swap out the TT128
and replace it with the Radeon 7000 ... But not before 10.1.5. Correct?

Final comment: It seems the development chronology of XPF beta versions must
be in synch with the chronology of OSX ... Would anyone on the list care to
create a comparative chart for reference purposes, showing just which
version works with which? (Big job, eh?).
