I would stick with 7.   I have had the most success with that one.  It even 
installs 10.2 OK for me.   15 and 16 won't even boot 10.2 for me.   
Actually, it starts to boot, but I get a black screen error message saying 
something like "The Installer has quit due to an unexexpected problem"!   
Wow, like, great error message there!
