I have the Ultratek card in an s900, also.

I had problems after I updated the firmware using the Other World Computing
updater. I was able to successfully "kludge" the OWC updater utility using
resources from the Smartdisk updater, to flash the card "downward" -- that is,
_back_ to firmware version 1.1.2.

I have found the Smartdisk 1.1.2 firmware to work very well with "non-X"
OS'es. If you want to experiment with 2.2.4, go ahead, but if you start
getting mysterious lock-ups, etc., you may want to "flash back down".
