Alan, it's a feature that your ISP must provide--at least for it to 
work the way it does at IO.  IO has their email server set up to 
filter SPAM before the users see or download it.   They have also set 
up filter files on the Unix server where each user can add their own 
addresses/domains/IPs to filter.

Filtering with Communicator is about as good, except that you'll 
still download the mail before it gets filtered--unless Communicator 
is smart enough to look at the headers on the server and delete 
before downloading.  I'm not even sure that's possible.
