Download the Powerlogix software. It's worth a try. It lets you disable the Motherboard cache among other things...
As far as your video problem- I have an Ult. Rez card and I think I decided that the control panel was a waste of time and just used the Apple drivers. Make sure you've only enabled one set at a time.
