I just got over this problem when did a clean install from 10.1.5 to 
10.2. Turns out that I had a bad (IDE in my case) cable that was just a 
little worn, the reinstall was just enough to make the computer go 
beserk. You may want to double check and be sure, it would have saved 
me a whole week of trouble shooting.
