Well I'm not using a G4 but thought I'd write anyway.
I started with an XLR8 Carrier Zif with G3 300mhz card bought as a
package for a good price. Later of course I wanted a faster upgrade but
they were just too expensive. Finally I saw an OWC mercury G3 500mhz
Zif upgrade which I could afford. It was half what the other companies
wanted. I wasn't sure it would work well but went ahead and bought it.
It has ran over clocked to 550mhz for over a year with no problems at
all. If you do get a bad one OWC will take it back. I say go for it!
Will S
PS the UMAX J700/S900 doesn't have the 6 slot PCI card issue with G4
upgrades that the Apple 9500,9600 and PowerTower Pro machines do!
