Hi Jim, That second slot is for a specially designed second processor that runs in tandem with the first. Nothing else will fit nor function there. When speaking of CPU upgrades, exchanging the CPU or daughter card is what is usually meant. These do not go in a PCI slot. There is, or was, a quasi CPU upgrade that is on a PCI card. In essence, it is a multiproccesor computer that boots from its own firmware and is *clustered* with the main CPU, using the PCI bus to communicate instead of ethernet or fibre. HTH, paul -- Paul F.
