what you want is a stranded patch cable, most ethernet cables have solid
conductors, which are hard to bend and will tend to fail if you do flex
them repeatedly.  get one with good flex relief.  officemax might have
them, if not one of the better computer stores should, just make sure it
says it's stranded wire and looks solid.  a broken conductor with the
ends kind of touching can drive you mad very, very quickly.
