It probably won't work because the G4/800 has a different cache
arrangement than the earlier G4 upgrades for which the PowerLogix
software is written.

The PMC7455, on which the Sonnet G4/800 is based, has the normal
internal L1 cache (about 64K), but then things get different from
what we're used to. The L2 cache is also internal and is only 256K,
but it runs very fast. Then there is an L3 cache which is external
and is similar to the L2 caches on other G3/G4 cards that we are used
to.

The issue here is that the PowerLogix software does not know to look
for the L3 cache and probably does not know how to enable it, since
its control register is likely in a different spot than a typical L2
cache's controls.

It would be worth trying the PowerLogix software but I don't think it
will work on the G4/800. I've had one report from a non-list member
that it doesn't.
