The thing about OS X is, that the "elegance" that has always been the key
feature of the Apple experience, is still very evident. Once you get Jaguar
all set up the way you like it, and use it for an extended period of time,
you realize that it is actually better, overall, than anything that came
before, and perhaps better than anything else currently available.

I was very leery to abandon OS 9, and it was only recently that I finally
dug into OS X enough to realize that OS 9 eventually won't be needed at all.
It's barely needed now in my set up, only for a very few apps.. And although
I bitterly opposed Apple's decision to no longer develop OS 9, I now
understand why they're focusing solely on X.

OS X (Jaguar) is already good at just 2 years of age, but given another year
or two at most, it is potentially marvelous.
