I'll also attest to the value of power stabilization.

I may have mentioned it here already but....

One of our friends had so many problems with their 680x0 machine that
we finally got tired of playing tech support and gave them an
indefinite loan of my wife's PowerCenter 150 (when she got a G3),
which had been near perfectly stable at our place.

Within a few weeks *that* machine started having similar problems.
Odd crashes and such. We'd bring it back up here, run Norton and/or
TechTool and/or DiskWarrior, pronounce it cured, and send it back
with them. Lather, rinse, repeat...

They weren't doing much besides using Eudora and Netscape. Much less
than my wife, who does web development, etc.

After some head scratching, we put them on a little APC unit - just
enough to give them 5 min or so to shut down gracefully in the event
of a power outage. We were entering heavy lightning season anyway, so
it wasn't too hard a sell.

Problem solved.
