In Toast 5 the 'copy' option is right on the main window, and it does everything for you. Push the copy button and away you go, you just need to remove the source disk and insert the blank disk when Toast asks. Can't remember how the older versions of Toast were set up. > The music videos made using the Plextor as a reader are so superior to the > Matushita that there is no question of using the latter but the problem hasn't > arisen because I always rip the tracks as AIFF. The Matsushita (over the years) has been very inconsistent for people on this list. I had trouble with mine just playing audio CD's. Other's had better luck with their Matsushita's, but one thing is for sure... Plextor drives are very good, perhaps even the best available. > Any advice on the new Yamaha versus Plextor firewire CDRW? Both are real good. That disk labeling ability of the new Yamaha's is pretty cool. It burns an image/text onto the shiny side of the disk, permanently labeling it. A novelty perhaps, but kind of a cool feature. > I am slowly leaning away from SCSI having just ruined my last Syjet, in > yanking drives in out trying to burn that CDRW--very sad. I was going to buy a blank SyJet disk there, and discovered they had new SyJet drives for a little more than the cost of a blank disk. The drive comes with one blank disk, so it made more sense to just buy another SyJet. Like you, I find they are a pretty good backup device, although like you discovered, they are a bit fragile. But so are the Iomega Jaz drives. -Howie -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
