Nah, there are some old timers who have switched to it too. One can argue about it till we're all blue in the face, but it really is inconvenient if some folks are doing it one way and others are doing it the other way. Any time one needs to quote more than one message in a posting a mix of top and bottom posting leads to incomprehensibility. I'm subscribed to PCI-PowerMacs in digest mode and the near alternating occurence of the styles from post to post is jarring and makes it nearly unreadable. Bottom posting has been the standard for decades. It was the recognized netiquette back when TIN and PINE were client applications of choice. And the List Mom has asked us to use bottom posting. I'm still puzzled how it came to be the default in client apps. I suspect evil Microsoft is to blame again, as it really gained steam with a release of Outlook Express. Without agreeing that one or the other is the ultimate, could we agree to all bottom post in the interests of consistency leading to readable history in our messages? I think this would be a polite and considerate thing to do. Plus, I tend to just delete top posted messages without bothering to read them, with a few exceptions based on whim and my feelings for the author(s) in question.
