Hi,
I'm gradually adding scsi drives (1xIBM,2xQuantum Atlas,1xSeagate
Cheetah) to my Pulsar to eventually turn it into a raid server some time
in the future and have come across a couple of problems with the bays.
The top HD bay - the highest and under the 5.25 bays - seems to be very
tight and a little out of true with a HD mounted in it and I'm wondering
whether this is a normal occurrence.
The floppy bay will take a HD with a little customisation but what
about the floppy cable - does it just hang free or should it have some
kind of termination?
The bottom bay is a bit of a headache to get a HD in and - presuming
that I need a couple of extra long screws to secure it to the front of
the case - where can I get these screws from? They seem to be american
thread.
Another question concerns the installation of an extra fan connected
to the bottom bay plastic housing - where do I connect power to it?
Running apps under 9.1 on these drives when formatted HFS+ throws up
type 1,2 and 3 errors which seem to disappear when the drives are
formatted standard HFS - is there a simple reason for this?
