Right. My bad. I forgot that thing is routed under the MB. It's very neatly done, though. Okay, I would, if you can, unplug it at the motherboard. The plug is near the rear right (top) of the motherboard. The plug, at least, is on the top side of the motherboard. Then leave the cable in the case. If you can't manage that, I'd just leave it alone. The floppy controller probably won't care if there's extra cable dangling there, and it's not like there's anything else on the floppy cable bus which is going to malfunction. There's a small chance that all that extra cable could result in extraneous signals to the floppy controller, hence, a paranoid person would unplug the cable, but I think its unlikely.
