Have just acquired a 2nd S900 and encountered some problems maybe some of the list more advanced users can advise.
Unit has a ATI RageII +DVD video card, were any S900 sent out like this from the factory ? My thoughts are that with the DVD marking this was added. Can anyone give any info regarding this card and it's use ? Noted on ATI web site it requires driver but should it not just have a basic start up function built in ? Unit chimes, processor seems to get warm to the touch, but no video. My running unit connected to my PC monitor shows flashing status lights, yet even with both video cards tested lights make no attempt to sync up monitor, leading me to consider that the PCI circuit may be at fault. Tried battery removal, cuda unplugged several hrs etc... Also tried known good video card. Battery out tonight for the extended NV circuit flush - Lets hope. Purchased for not much more than a power supply and considering the extra bits, memory, CD etc... no great loss if its gone dead at the motherboard level. But does any one on the list have a test bench and the ability to repair at the component level ?
